Stylewise Magazine is Out!

The latest edition of the Stylewise magazine is out and overall I would say that it was worth a look. The magazine now features editorial content, so it's more of a magazine than the catalogue it was before. This is definitely a good change.

The cover features model Kari McCarthy, wearing a navy maxi dress with a high neckline and mesh between the collar and bust, available at Redd Boutique. The dress appears to be made of velvet and has more mesh detailing on the side. It's a very classy glamorous look, especially the way it was styled with a simple silver cuff and silver earrings. While I'm not a fan of velvet, this would be a lovely dress for a formal event.

Local hairdresser, singer and style icon GiGi Ma'at is the featured personality in this issue, which is a first for the magazine. The article gives you an inside look into her life and her style.

There are several looks featured in the magazine from a range of stores. Dresses definitely seem to be where it's at at the moment, probably with everyone needing a classy outfit for the Christmas and New Year's happenings. My personal favourite is a blue turtleneck, sleeveless maxi dress featuring two thigh high splits on either side. It's available at Intermixz boutique.

Of course, a dress isn't an outfit until you accessorize. There are also several bags, shoes, and pieces of jewelry to help you complete your look. More inspiration is available in the back of the magazine in the 'Style Happens' section, where familiar faces have posed for the camera at various events.

What I do wish there was more of in this magazine is men's fashion. There is a spread with some men's items, but the styles aren't very varied. I know that women reading this magazine will also be looking for inspiration or finds for the men in their lives, so not having that was a miss for me.

Overall I think it was a good job. It definitely left me wanting more, but they're in a transition phase so I can't wait to see how they improve in the next edition. The magazine is usually available online after publication, but it wasn't up yet by the time I made this post. I will post the link if and when it becomes available for those of you who don't get a hard copy.

Bonus: if you're into weaves and wigs, there is a girl wearing some gorgeous hair in the 'Pulze The Store' ad on page 5. I plan to hunt her down and find out what hair that is because it is fierce! I'll let you guys know what I find out.
